User retains ownership to the information provided to LinkedIn. The information may be deleted unless it has been shared with others and they have not deleted it, or it was copied or stored by other users. However, the user has to grant LinkedIn an extensive license to e.g. process, modify and commercialize the information. Thus, sensitive or confidential material should not be uploaded to the service.
