Ulrichsweb is a paid database containing information on scientific journals, newspapers and serial publications. The database also includes the Open Access journals belonging to the DOAJ database (Directory of Open Access Journals) as well as other OA publications.
Scimago Journal & Country Rank
Scimago Journal & Country Rank is an open access service that includes indicators developed based on data in the Scopus database for evaluating journals and countries (e.g. SJR indicator). Users can produce field-specific and country-specific lists about the journals and arrange the results based on several indicators.
CWTS Journal Indicators
CWTS Journal Indicators is an open evaluation tool for journals maintained by the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) of Leiden University, a unit specialising in bibliometric analyses.
CWTS Journal Indicators calculates indicators based on data available in the Scopus database:
- SNIP (Source Normalized impact per Paper) depicts the average article-specific impact of a journal while also taking into account the special characteristics of different fields of science.
- IPP (Impact per Publication) is a similar indicator to Impact Factor, but the method applies a three-year citation window.
- The percentage of self-citations of a source demonstrates the citations made by the journal to its own articles (citations during the current year to articles published over the past three years)
The service also gives a ‘stability interval’ value, which reflects the reliability of the SNIP and IPP indicators and which offers a quick visual method for assessing how reliable and stable the value of these indicators is regarding the journals being reviewed.
