Apologies:
Agenda:
- Gravity call, ideas and discussion
- Workshop take aways
- Next steps
- a check if anyone wishes to join a consortium for a Gravity call, or approach this individually.
- ACTION: people are asked to make themselves known to Jessica if intending to apply - jessica.parland-vonessen(@)csc.fi
- Also the FIDELIS project on trustworthy repositories is having a call in spring 2026: https://eden-fidelis.eu/
- we will keep this on the agenda or create a separate group if needed
- Workshop takeaways
- what constitutes a "service" - is there a good example for this? But we'd need a variety of examples
- PID assignment/distribution for services also remains a challenge
- difference between tool vs service → also description of borderline cases, e.g. software that is nearing a service
- new EOSC handbook is still in review
- Glossary from EOSC Future: https://wiki.eoscfuture.eu/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=101155092 - how are these definitions being used now?
- new governance model for EOSC is taking shape for 2026
- next fed capabilities: help desk/service desk - but questionable if this should be a priority at this stage
- EOSC nodes with AIFs: Finland, Italy, Germany – potential collaboration in 2026 for data labs?
- how do we show on the catalogue who is offering the service → EOSC Finland Node, service by Helsinki Uni, etc.
- will Haka login always be a requirement? Or open?
- EUDAT should be EOSC Federated and use MyAccessID as they are a candidate node
- Describing repositories as services to begin with
- Restricted access resources – will these be filtered in the catalogue? Are these worth being described? Yes, there is a filter, but needs to be taken into consideration in the data model. Describe as open, but have access levels.
- EEN resource catalogue vocabulary: https://github.com/EOSC-Lot-1/een-resource-catalogue-docs/blob/eosc/vocabularies/ACCESS_MODE.json
- EOSC Finland featured in blog by SwissRN: https://www.swissrn.org/contents/activities/open_research_data/posts/2025-12-03-EOSC_NODES_SENPRO/
- ACTION: Add suggestions to national services listings and take a look at the service descriptions - please keep adding!
- Next steps
- next meeting 9th January
