After evaluating the exam performance, the evaluation must be locked in your university’s EXAM system. On the Submission assessment page, the evaluation of an individual student’s exam performance is locked by pressing the Save and lock the assessment button. The evaluation can also be locked for all or some of the evaluations at once on the Study attainments page of the exam. On the Study attainments page, under Assessed submissions, you must first select the evaluations you want to lock, and then press the Lock the selected assignments and inform students button.

After locking the evaluations, the evaluation data must be recorded in the university’s student information system (Sisu, Peppi, or other). There are three options for recording the evaluation data, depending on the university: automatic export of evaluation data, manual entry of evaluation data, or mass export of evaluation data using a CSV file. Please note any university-specific instructions.

Archiving exam performances

Do not archive exam performances in the EXAM system until you have ensured that the evaluations of the exam performances have been recorded in the university’s student information system.

Automatic export of evaluation data

If an integration for exporting evaluation data has been implemented between the university’s EXAM system and student information system, the integration will automatically export the locked evaluation data from EXAM to the student information system. For more information, refer to your university’s specific instructions.

Manual entry of evaluation data

Enter the evaluation data individually into your university’s student information system according to your university’s guidelines.

Downloading evaluation data to a CSV or Excel file

The examiner can download the evaluation data of an exam from the university’s EXAM system as a CSV or Excel file. The file can be provided to the person responsible for entering the evaluation data into your university’s student information system. In some universities, it is also possible to perform a mass export of evaluation data into the student information system using a CSV file downloaded from EXAM. For more information, refer to your university’s specific instructions.

  1. Open your exam with locked exam performances.
  2. Open the Study attainments tab of the exam.
  3. Find the section for Locked study attainments.
  4. Select one or more exam performances by clicking the box to the left of the student’s name. Alternatively, you can select multiple performances at once by clicking the box menu to the left of the header row for locked exam performances.
  5. Click the link below the locked exam performances: Print selected exam results to a file (.csv) or Create report (.xlsx).
  6. Save the file on your computer.

Retention period for exam performances

The evaluation data of students’ exam performances must be recorded in the university’s student information system within the retention period set in the university’s EXAM system. After the university-specific retention period, the exam performance data will be deleted from EXAM. Additionally, please ensure that any CSV or Excel files containing students’ evaluation data are deleted from your computer in accordance with your university’s data management plan.
