EXAM visit

Exam visit means that the student takes his/her own university's exam in another university's Exam room.

For teachers the exam visit does not cause any extra work. The student must check in advance each university's exam rules and regulations as well as the opening hours and how to access the exam room before booking an exam time.

  • The teacher uses only the home university's EXAM: creates and assesses the exam.
  • The student books the exam time using the home university's EXAM by choosing "Select room for exam visit".
  • When the student goes to take the exam in another university's exam room s/he logs in with the home university's user id and password via HAKA. The student is shown the other university's EXAM regulations. By accepting the regulations the student consents to these regulations and the  use of video surveillance in the exam room.
  • NB! The software that can be used during the exam varies between the universities. If a certain software is needed when taking your exam please make sure to inform about this to the student. It is the student's responsibility to check the available software before making the exam visit reservation.

Reasonable accommodations to be made on a case-by-case basis during the exam visit

A student can request reasonable accommodations for an exam taken as an exam visit if they are entitled to such accommodations at the home university. They must submit a request for reasonable accommodations in an exam visit to the home university no later than 10 business days before the exam time.

  1. If the student is entitled to
    1. additional time or divided exam, they contact their teacher.
    2. other adjustments, they contact their university's Exam support (link to support service) and informs which university they want to take the exam at and what adjustments they need. The Exam support will contact the other university and find out if the adjustments the student needs are possible in the exam visit.
  2. The student will be informed whether adjustments are possible at the other university.
    1. If the adjustments are possible, the student makes an exam reservation and takes the exam at the other university.
    2. If the adjustments are not possible, the student takes the exam at the home university or contacts the teacher and agrees on the exam method.
