Adding exam questions and publishing the exam
Log in to your own university's EXAM system. Below are the login links:
- Joint exams can be found under the "Dashboard" section in the navigation menu. Click the "Dashboard" link twice if the "Joint Exams" heading does not appear immediately.
- The joint exam you've been added to will automatically appear on the page. You can also search for the exam by name if it doesn't appear automatically.
- To edit exam details, click on the exam name.
- When the administrator creates the exam and releases it for examiners to work on, the exam will be in a "Pre-published" state. Once all the examiners have added the agreed-upon questions and the exam is ready, one of the examiners will publish the exam. An exam in "Published" status will be available for students to reserve.
- If the "Joint Exams" list is empty or you are unable to edit the joint exam you need, contact the administrator who created the exam template or your institution's EXAM support.
The exam details are entered the same way as in regular exams. For joint exams, it should be agreed upon who will fill in the basic exam information, evaluation, and publication settings (administrator or teacher).
- Complete the information on the "Questions" tab.
- For more information about question types and how to create them, refer to the Teacher's Guide.
Note! In joint exams, the question bank is not available. Questions are created and edited specifically for the exam in question.
- For more information about question types and how to create them, refer to the Teacher's Guide.
Joint exam evaluation
When evaluating joint exams, note that they can only be found under the "Joint Exams" tab (navigate to the exam via the navigation menu) on the "Study attainments" tab.
For the evaluation of joint exams, clear guidelines should be agreed upon between the evaluators if there are multiple evaluators involved.
- A good practice is, for example, to agree that the first evaluator leaves their feedback in the "Additional evaluation details for the record" field, and the second evaluator adds the points to the questions.
If there is uncertainty in the evaluation of a task, the final score should be decided before the grade is saved and locked. The evaluation is locked only once, and after that, it cannot be changed. After the evaluation is locked, the student will receive an email notification about the completion of the evaluation and will be able to view the information in the "Feedback to student" field in the system, if the field has been filled.
The study attainments of joint exams are not automatically transferred to the student information system.
- The list of results can be processed in a joint exam via a CSV file. More information can be found in the Teacher's Guide.
The retention period for joint exam performances is 12 months, starting from the locking of the assessment. The process of deleting old exam performances takes place on the first day of each month.
