How can I download Python packages?
- Anaconda Pro repository is available in Fiona.
- There are instructions on how to deploy the repository on Fiona's desktop ("Fiona_fix_python_repositories_v.1.2.pdf").
How can I download R packages?
You can download the R packages via CRAN mirror repository on RStudio. Please, see the instruction ("CRAN_Library_RStudio.pdf") on the FIONA desktop on how to enable CRAN mirror repository on RStudio.
- If a package is not already in the CRAN, ask the admin to download it. Here you can find instructions for the support request.
- Please note, that in some cases, the downloading a package needs to be approved the data security specialists.
How can I download Stata or other programs' packages?
- Starting from December 17th 2024 standard Stata packages from Boston College Statistical Software Components (SSC) archive are available within FIONA. The feature is first introduced to Windows machines with Linux users following up in January 2025.
- Guides can be found in FIONA in D:\stata_packages\stata_package_guide.pdf for Windows and in /mnt/stata_packages/stata_package_guide_linux.pdf for Linux.
- Please note, that in cases outside of SSC you must request a package installation with a support request.

Stata seems to download temp files to C folder, and due to this the memory running out - what to do?
- You can direct Stata to save the temp files to the W folder. Please, see the instruction ("StataTemporaryFolder.pdf") on the FIONA desktop.
- If the memory is still running out, check instructions for the support request.
The SPSS is not working?
- Error message: E.g. "Error #7001, There is no license for IBM SPSS statistics.
- This issue is due to lack of SPSS licenses (there is only a limit number of SPSS licenses in FIONA). In this case, you have to wait for a license to be released.
