Replacement of thesis and maturity test

As a transfer student, you can apply for replacement of thesis and maturity test if you completed these in the degree programme from which you applied transfer from. Replacement should be applied for thesis and maturity test separately and these are assessed with grade pass (approved).  If a student wants a numerical grade for their thesis, the thesis must be re-evaluated at the University of Oulu. 

How to apply replacement:

1. Make a new application.
   
   
2. Add the place of performance and attachments.
   
   
3. Add the details of the thesis by clicking +Add previously completed study button in the section Studies or knowledge.
   
   
   
   
4. Choose replacement as the credit transfer type and choose the Programme Director as the handler.
   
   You can search for the name of the Programme Director from the Faculty Study Services page. You can check the name of your Programme Director from Patio: Tasks and appointment of the programme director (login with your O365 account), section 3 document Programmes and Programme Directors. 
   
   
   
   
5. Click +Add study.
   
   
   
   
6. Fill in the fields.
   1. Check the code of thesis course from the transcript of records. Leave the course code empty if there isn't a code for the thesis course.
   2. Add Thesis credited with previous thesis to the field of original name and English name. 
   3. Add the original scope of the thesis to course credits field.
   4. Add ECTS credit to the type of credits field. 
   5. Add the language of the thesis to the language of instruction field.
   6. Add pass to the assessment field.
   7. Click place of performance field and Peppi will suggest the place you added earlier.
   8. Add the date of completion.
   9. Write justifications why the replacement should be accepted.
      
      
7. Choose from the section Studies for which credit transfer is sought the thesis course by clicking the plus button in the end of the name or drag the course to the section Studies selected to application on right. In this example the thesis course is named Bachelor's Thesis.
   
   
   
   
8. After you have added the course to the section Studies selected to application, click Save.
   
   
   
   
9. After this, add a new section to the application for Maturity test. Click +Add previously completed study.
   
   
   
   
10. Choose replacement as the credit transfer type and choose the degree programme director as the handler.
    
    
    
    
11. Click +Add study.
    
    
    
    
12. Fill in the fields.
    1. Check the code of the maturity test from the transcript of records. Leave the course code empty if there isn't code for the thesis course.
    2. Add Maturity Test to the field of original name and English name.
    3. Add 0 to the course credits field.
    4. Add ECTS credit to the type of credits field. 
    5. Add the language of the maturity test to the language of instruction field.
    6. Add pass to the assessment field.
    7. Click place of performance field and Peppi will suggest the place you added earlier.
    8. Add the date of completion.
    9. Write justifications why the replacement should be accepted.
       
       
13. Choose from the section Studies for which credit transfer is sought the maturity test course by clicking the plus button in the end of the name or drag the course to the section Studies selected to application on right.
    
    
    
    
14. After you have added the course to the section Studies selected to application, click Save.
    
    
    
    
15. The thesis and the maturity test appear in the application as separate sections below each other.
    
    
16. Send the application to the handler by clicking Submit application. The system will verify whether you want to submit the application. Click Continue.
