Team synchronization from Eduuni Cloud (Suomeksi)

By synchronizing the team from Eduuni Cloud, it can be used as a #group in services linked to the Eduuni-ID.

The team is synchronized back from Eduuni-ID to Eduuni Cloud in group format, allowing it to be used for permission management in SharePoint Online and Power BI.

Starting team synchronization

Team synchronization is initiated by navigating to the team's Settings tab in Eduuni Cloud and pressing the Synchronize button in the Team Synchronization window.

After this, the page will display the synchronization status and the address used for team management and granting permissions.

Synchronization typically takes about 5–15 minutes.

Once synchronization is complete, the team is available in Eduuni-ID services for permission management.

The team will later be synchronized back to Eduuni Cloud as a #group, according to the diagram shown at the top of the page.

The #group synchronized to Eduuni Cloud can be used for permission management in SharePoint Online and Power BI.

Stopping team synchronization

If you want to stop synchronizing the team to Eduuni-ID, press the Stop Synchronization button in the Team Synchronization window in the settings.

After this, the page will indicate that synchronization has been stopped.

Stopping synchronization typically takes about 2–5 minutes. Once the stop process is complete, the following view will be displayed on the page:

Please note that if you have granted access rights using the #group, those permissions will be lost after stopping the synchronization.

#group synchronization from Eduuni-ID (Suomeksi)

You can synchronize a #group from Eduuni-ID to Eduuni Cloud for use by marking it for synchronization from its management page:

Open the #group on the groups site → Settings → Group Settings

Add the text "CLOUDSYNC" anywhere in the #groups "About Me" field. The lettercase does not matter, but we recommend uppercase letters for better visibility.

Save the changes you made to the group settings. After this, on average within about 15 minutes, the #group will be available in Eduuni Cloud. 

The #group can then be used for permissions, just like a #group synchronized from Eduuni Cloud, that is for granting access rights in SharePoint Online and Power BI. 

You can stop synchronization at any time by removing the text "CLOUDSYNC" from the #groups "About Me" field. Please note that in this case, any access rights granted using the synchronized #group in Eduuni Cloud will be lost.
