About the feature

Enforced Security SharePoint Workspaces are an additional security feature available for Eduuni Cloud teams.

When the feature is enabled, access to SharePoint content requires that the user’s device is Compliant according to the security requirements defined by the user’s home organisation.

Device compliance is evaluated in the user’s own home organisation, and Eduuni does not manage or validate devices. If the user’s device does not meet the compliance requirements, SharePoint content (e.g. document libraries, Teams “Files” view) cannot be accessed even if the user is logged in.

The feature also applies to other M365 services that use SharePoint in the background (e.g. Teams).

If a user copies or pastes files into a Teams chat, the file names are visible to all chat participants, even though the feature prevents the actual file content from opening on non-compliant devices.

We recommend sharing files via the Teams “Files” view or with a direct SharePoint link if you want to avoid file names being visible in chats.
