Basic search

You can search for a publication channel by name and its various versions, i.e. variant items and by the publication channel’s identifier (Jufo ID). You can also search for series by using the ISSN identifier, for book publishers by the ISBN identifier and for conferences by their abbreviations. The search will display the publication channels that are stored in the Publication Forum database and that are still active. Finally, you can download your search results as an Excel file.

Limiting the search

You can further specify the search based on the publication channel type, publication language, country of publication and the Publication Forum level.

The Publication Forum’s levels are:

  • 3 = highest level
  • 2 = leading level
  • 1 = basic level
  • The evaluated publication channels which do not fully meet the Level 1 criteria, shall be marked with the identifier 0.

Panel

Using this filter, you can limit the view to the lists of your own panels or other panels.

  • My own panel: (default) filters the view to the publication channels belonging to the list of the panellist’s own panel
  • All panels: use this filter to view all publication channels irrespective of the panel
  • Panel X: filters the view to the publication channels belonging to the list of the selected panel

Additional filters

  • Assigned to me: filters the view to all channels which the panellist has either selected to evaluate or which the chairperson has assigned to the panellist.
  • Includes notes: filters the view to contain the channels with a note.
  • My ratings: filters the view contain to the channels with the panellist’s own ratings.
  • Proposals by third parties: filters the view to contain the publication channels which are subject to proposals for additions or changes to levels through the Publication Forum’s proposals page.
  • TOP10: filters the view to contain channels with the panellist’s own top10 definition.
  • Click on the Include inactive check box to also view the publication channels that are inactive or have changed their name. These channels will not normally be shown in the search results.

Filter by field of science

You can limit the search according to various fields of science categories (MinEdu, Web of Science (WoS), Scopus, Norwegian and Danish classifications, ERIH+). Some of the publication channels have several classifications: the more classifications you select, the more extensive the search result. The MinEdu classification refers to the 2010 discipline classification (Tieteenala 2010, based on the FOS classification by OECD) of Statistics Finland used by the Ministry of Education in their own searches. The personnel of the Publication Forum will define the MinEdu category for publication series and conferences when they are added as new publication channels to the database. WoS and Scopus classifications can be found for those journals which have been indexed in these databases.
