In certain cases, it may be necessary to clear cookies from Microsoft Office software, but the functionality for this is not available within the software itself. The most common reason for clearing cookies from these applications is login-related issues, such as using the wrong login method.

Windows-environment (Suomeksi)

The settings related to cookies have been moved behind the Internet Options menu for almost all products. This menu should be present in all versions of Windows from Windows 7 to Windows 11.

  1. Enter "Internet Options" into the search menu.
    • If the option does not appear in the search menu, you can access the same window from the Control Panel:
    • Open the Control Panel.
    • Choose Network and Internet.
    • In the opened window, select Network and Sharing Center.
    • At the bottom left corner, you will find the option Internet Options.
  2. The layout of the opened "Internet Properties" window may vary depending on the system version.
  3. Below the "Browsing history" title, click the Delete button.
  4. In the opened "Delete Browsing History" window, uncheck the option related to preserving data at the top, and make sure that 'Cookies' is selected.
  5. After verifying your choices, click the Delete button.
  6. Now, your cookies have been removed from Office/M365 products. You can now for example change the sign in method.
