Criteria

The level 1 criteria are given in the section 4.2. of the handbook.  If there is not enough information available on a publication channel, for example, there is no website, or you cannot access the articles, there is no need to accept it to Level 1. Publications that are marginal from the viewpoint of Finnish research do not need to be accepted to Level 1 either.

List view

In the first column of the table you can see which publication channels will get an official level when you click on the "Confirm evaluation" button at the top right corner of the portal.

Green = Channels evaluated by the chair/vice chair.

Red = Channels evaluated by at least one panellist.

You can also directly select the channels to be confirmed by clicking on the check box. By doing so the channels with the green background colour will at confirmation receive the level that has been granted by the chair or vice chair. The channels with red background colour will get the level given by a panellist, if you accept it for confirmation by clicking on the check box. If there are discrepancies between the evaluations given by the panellists (pan sgt = 0/1), the level shall be 1, unless you yourself define 0 as the level.

Please note! The checkbox is missing if there are no evaluations. In this case you need to make your evaluation before you can move on to confirmation.

Confirm button

"Confirm rating" button is located at the top right corner of the portal. When you click on the button, a pop-up window will open with a list of publication channels to be confirmed.  The Confirm button will grant the publication channels the official Publication Forum level, and they will no longer be available in complementary evaluation. After this, the other panel members will no longer be able to comment on these publication channels and it will no longer be possible to amend the levels. In other words, do not to click the Confirm rating button before you are sure that everyone has given their contribution. The publication channels without an evaluation given by the chair or vice chair will remain on the task list even if they contain classifications or comments given by the panellists.
