- The ownership of the files remains with the user. However, Microsoft holds the right to monitor files for illegal material.
- The provider will inform if changes are made into the policies.
- It is possible to use two factory authentication and add security information to the account which makes it possible to reset a forgotten password.
- The user must take care of backups of his/her files in the service.
- The user must sign into OneDrive at least once in a one-year period, otherwise OneDrive will be closed.
- The provider does not promise to inform about possible data requests from government and law enforcement.
