General information about the electronically signed degree certificate

The electronically signed degree certificate is the student's only offical degree certificate.

The degree certificate is signed using an electornic certificate. You can check the authenticity of the diploma for example at the service of the Digital and Population Agency.

DPA's validation service will receive an "error message", which you don't need to worry about. (Figure 1)

NOTE! If the electronically signed degree certificate has been edited after it has been downloaded, the electronic certificate is broken and the document is no longer valid.

When the electronic degree certificate is signed, it will be sent to students Atomi-service. The student downloads the offical degree certificate from the Atomi service itself or from the link in the email.

How you download an offical degree certificate

Download the degree certificate within 30 days, when you receive a email to your personal e-mail addres (if this is registered in Peppi) about the completion of your degree certificate. You can download your certificate from the link in the email, or:

1. Log in to Peppi. Open the Atomi service from the navigation menu of the student's desktop by clicking the Atomi Service-icon. (Figure 2)
2. There are two tabs in Atomi service: New order and Documents. (Figure 3)
3. On the Documents tab, you can see the documents created for you an their creation date. Open the degree certificate by clicking on the document name.
4. The degree certificate opens either in the browser, is downloaded to the browser's Downloads-foler or is opened with the default program (e.g. Adobe Reader). This depends on your browser settings. You can see related instructions in your browser's instructions.
5. Download the degree certificate and save it in your own files. You should store your degree certificate in a cloud service for example. In addition, you should also make a backup copy of the file.

Note:

• Never open the certificate in edit mode. When opened in editing mode. When opened in editing mode, the electronic signature certificate is broken, and the documents is no longer authentic.
• You can create electronic backups of the offical certificate. All electronic copies are offical and authentic certificates.

• The printed certificate can be proved to be genuine.

• When applying for a certificate, please note that you update your contact information in Peppi so that your certificate goes to the correct address.
• If you have neglected to download the certificate within the deadline (30 days), the certificate will be charged.
